Dreams of Days Past

  • Mood:

Many years ago I use to role-play D&D on the computer. Actually it was when Prodigy first started up.  Several of us met in a place called the Peaceful Warrior Inn and the Vampire Pub.  There we would rp on the honor system.  It was fun and simple then.  Now things have changed and all the new games have brought on line playing.  There is no more room for imagination.  Well back then my character was a lady Warrior who went by two names, Lady Isobell, or The Gentle Warrior.  I started out a Paladin and worshiped the goddess Solistra, During my many battles I won great gifts and helped many of my friends along with them helping me from time to time also.  Then I was given a gift by a dear friend Darkpanther, I was able to become a rather huge white bangle Tiger with smoke stripes and emerald eyes.  Those were such good times.  My imagination soared, and so did my artwork.  It was like the rping became my muse and lead me into realms I never dreamed possible.  How I wish I could turn back time just for a week and enter that realm with my friends once more.  Sadly that can not happen so here I give you a couple of poems that I wrote.  This was Lady Isobell as she laid in the Emerald Forest by Crystal Lake thinking of her dearest friend and love Darkpanther.

Lost in Thoughts

She lifts her massive head as a voice echos across Crystal Lake.

A voice, it was of the Lord of all Cats, that she could not mistake.

She listened as her soulful eyes watched the moons reflecting off the water clear.

These words she had heard before...oh the pain, the sorrow she did fear.

An inn in the middle of a small little town,

A place she knew in her heart she would always be bound.

A lady with golden tresses sits by the fire with a friend.

Oh so long ago...her heart will never mend.

A large black panther at her side did lay,

the way the two usually did end the tiresome day.

She looked to him with soft emerald eyes,

his huge black sleek body making her look small in size.

"Tell me my friend of your time in the past?"

He looked to her with golden amber eyes and sighed "A spell I shall cast"

The flames rose up like maidens and gents

Like dancers with each swirling blaze they sent.

The tale they told on that fateful night

was one of a panther that caused the lady fright.

As the words on the winds echo down in their sound,

the white tiger shed a tear as her head slowly went back to the ground.

Her heart ached..her mind pondered.. her soul lost in time,

to give him her undieing love.. was that such a horrible crime?

I give you just a taste of that fateful heartfelt tale,

Of one called Darkpanther and his lady love....Isobell.

by Kautreena "Isobell" Steinhoff

Her head still laid upon the lush green grass,

her eyes opened slowly to show the moons in them as if they were glass.

She stared out into the vast darkness of the lonely night.

Only to watch her life pass before her, just one glimpse one solitary sight.

Into the heart of one beast she so long ago loved.

Her eyes looked upward to the stars that glimmered above.

Why.. How.. were the questions she asked of them there

You gave him me and then took me away.. how is this fair.

Yet no answers came forth to ease her deep pain

except for the softest of tiny drops of rain.

Slowly she rose from the banks of the lake,

padded as if dieing to the oak she did make.

Lowered herself to her belly by the roots that went down in the ground.

Lightening flashed brightly with a thundering sound.

Her white coat glowed as if she were a ghost in the night,

as two emerald eyes glisten from the tears that blurred her sight.

Softly she called out and on the winds it did float,

As true and as pure as the tigers white coat.

On a night in this forest I swore his mate I would be,

we played we laughted what a wonderous sight to see.

Then he paused and deep into my eyes he lingered there,

like a illuminous dark angel he made me sware.

"Do you trust me dear?" were his words I recall,

Trust? humm.. for him I swore yes above any and all.

He shifted he lunged and the pain was sever,

I trusted him yet as my hands went limp I did fear.

To Isobell on the fatefull night

Darkpanther gave half himself to make it right.

The white tiger sighed heavily as she watched the rain,

Yet another memory of that love.. oh the sorrow the pain.

So I tell you my friends keep your hearts close to your soul,

For you may end up like Darkpanther and Isobell.. apart..never to hold.

Greetings, if you be the panther that isobell speaks of in her poems then yes your name shall always float about as long as she lives inside of me. perhaps one day we can play here among my castle in my journal and stir up some creative muse. That how I would love. Farewell for now.
